SeaPerch is an underwater robotics innovative program that prepares mentors and students to build a Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle (ROV) for submarine missions. Students can build the ROV in a classroom or out-of-school setting with a special kit that consists of low-cost and easily accessible parts.
Throughout the program, students will learn engineering concepts, problem-solving, design skills, and teamwork. They will also be exposed to all the exciting possible careers in naval architecture and marine/ocean engineering.
SeaPerch WA Challenge is an annual regional challenge that qualifies participants for the International SeaPerch Competition. It follows a unique curriculum that teaches science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with a marine engineering theme.
The Challenge is held annually in the UAE to qualify winners for the International Competition taking place at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland.
