SeaPerch is an underwater robotics innovative program that prepares students to build a Remotely Operated underwater Vehicle (ROV) for submarine missions in a classroom or out-of-school setting with a special kit that consists of low-cost and easily accessible parts.
Each season has a new theme and a new set of competition tasks, challenging teams to expand on their original vehicle design. Throughout the program, students will learn engineering concepts, problem-solving, design skills, and teamwork. They will also be exposed to all the exciting possible careers in naval architecture and marine/ocean engineering.
SeaPerch WA Challenge is an annual regional challenge that qualifies school students from the West Asia region for the International Competition. It follows a unique curriculum that teaches science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with a marine engineering theme.
The challenge has also incredible local partners in the UAE, KSA, Oman, and Kuwait where each host runs their own competition qualifying teams for the regional final, which is held annually in the UAE and where the top teams will compete for the title of World Champion and represent their nationality.
Any elementary, middle, and high school students from the Gulf Countries can join this challenge by designing a remotely operated vehicle to perform specific underwater missions according to every year’s theme.
